Steps you can take to learn about your true self

Hello,
When I think about what is the easiest step I can take towards getting to understand my true self, the answer I generally get is that the easiest is not to tell any lies of any kind.
Try to fight the temptation of telling lies for small things like when someone in office asks you "Why are you late?" Try to tell the truth. I found that it is a real stress reliever - like the other day when our boss asked a colleague the question, he replied honestly. "I overslept", he said. The moment he told the truth the tension disappeared and all of us were laughing and cracking jokes about the reason for oversleeping.
It is easy to trick people with small lies like "I am in a meeting, can I call you later" lie we say when we want to avoid saying no to someone. The fact is that the more we delay more the other person dislikes us when we finally say no. He is happier if he gets the feedback immediately so that he can try someone else and not waste his energy thinking about what your answer is going to be.
Saying things which are untrue is ungodly and take us away from our true identity.
Stop telling lies. See how good you feel at the end of the day.
Best regards,
Manoj

ONE GOD - BARBARA STREISAND

Millions of stars placed in the skys
By One God
Millions of us lift up our eyes
To One God
So many children calling to him
By many a different name
One father
Loving each the same
Many the ways all of us pray
To one god
Many the path
Winding their way
To One God
Brothers and sisters there are no strangers
After his work is done
For your God and my God
Are one
So many children calling outloud
By many a different name
One father
Loving each the same
Many the ways all of us pray
To one God
Many the paths winding their way
To One God
Brothers and sisters there were no strangers
After the world was done
Our God, yes your God, and My God
ARE ONE!!!!!

Are you lost, unloved, helpless and defeated

Hello,

Many lives are wasted when man goes through life feeling lost, unloved, helpless, and defeated.

When we feel lost, uncared for and good for nothing we accept defeat. We take the broad path that seems so easy. This is when we loose the opportunity to get closer to the road that leads to God. Our heart is filled with hatred and envy and we forget that this is not the purpose of our life. This is not the real us.

Until we replace the hatred and envy with the huge amount of power and love that lives within us, the God within us we will continue to find ourselves in such an unhappy space.

So the path to God requires us to push out negative thoughts and feeling and allow the positive thoughts dominate our actions. Positive action is Godly action and a sure shot way to getting near God i.e. seeing your true self.

Best regards,

Manoj

WAY TO GOD

"Broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." (Matthew 7:13-14)

THE FACT THAT FEW HAVE WALKED THE PATH DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE PATH IS DIFFICULT.
NARROW AND STRAIT IS NOT SYNONYMOUS WITH TOUGH.
NARROW AND STRAIT MEANS SIMPLE AND MEANINGFUL. THIS WILL LEAD TO GOD.
THE FRILLS ATTACHED TO A FRIVOLOUS AND WASTEFUL EXISTENCE LOOKS GREAT BUT THERE IS NO DESTINATION TO THIS ROAD.
I WONDER WHY ONLY A FEW HAVE WALKED THE PATH.
REGARDS,
MANOJ

SILENCE - THE WAY TO KNOW GOD

'THE TAO WHICH CAN BE NAMED IS NOT THE TRUE TAO'

'THE REALITY OF THE FORMLESS AND THE UNREALITY OF THAT WHICH HAS FORM - IS KNOWN TO ALL

MANIFESTED TAO HAS NO OBJECTIVE VALUE; HENCE SILENCE IS BETTER THAN ARGUMENT. IT CANNOT BE TRANSLATED INTO SPEECH; BETTER THEN SAY NOTHING AT ALL. - LAO TZE

IF ANY ONE WERE TO DEMAND OF NATURE WHY IT PRODUCES IT WOULD ANSWER IF IT WERE WILLING TO LISTEN AND SPEAK: YOU SHOULD NOT ASK QUESTIONS BUT UNDERSTAND BY KEEPING SILENCE - PLOTINUS

PEACE BE ON US - ONE GOD

ADDRESS OF POPE BENEDICT XVI
DOME OF THE ROCK
JERUSALEM
12 MAY 2009

Dear Muslim Friends,

As-salámu ‘aláikum! Peace upon you!

I cordially thank the Grand Mufti, Muhammad Ahmad Hussein, together with the Director of the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf, Sheikh Mohammed Azzam al-Khatib al-Tamimi, and the Head of the Awquaf Council, Sheikh Abdel Azim Salhab, for the welcome they have extended to me on your behalf. I am deeply grateful for the invitation to visit this sacred place, and I willingly pay my respects to you and the leaders of the Islamic community in Jerusalem.

The Dome of the Rock draws our hearts and minds to reflect upon the mystery of creation and the faith of Abraham. Here the paths of the world’s three great monotheistic religions meet, reminding us what they share in common. Each believes in One God, creator and ruler of all. Each recognizes Abraham as a forefather, a man of faith upon whom God bestowed a special blessing. Each has gained a large following throughout the centuries and inspired a rich spiritual, intellectual and cultural patrimony.

In a world sadly torn by divisions, this sacred place serves as a stimulus, and also challenges men and women of goodwill to work to overcome misunderstandings and conflicts of the past and to set out on the path of a sincere dialogue aimed at building a world of justice and peace for coming generations.

Since the teachings of religious traditions ultimately concern the reality of God, the meaning of life, and the common destiny of mankind – that is to say, all that is most sacred and dear to us – there may be a temptation to engage in such dialogue with reluctance or ambivalence about its possibilities for success. Yet we can begin with the belief that the One God is the infinite source of justice and mercy, since in him the two exist in perfect unity. Those who confess his name are entrusted with the task of striving tirelessly for righteousness while imitating his forgiveness, for both are intrinsically oriented to the peaceful and harmonious coexistence of the human family.

For this reason, it is paramount that those who adore the One God should show themselves to be both grounded in and directed towards the unity of the entire human family. In other words, fidelity to the One God, the Creator, the Most High, leads to the recognition that human beings are fundamentally interrelated, since all owe their very existence to a single source and are pointed towards a common goal. Imprinted with the indelible image of the divine, they are called to play an active role in mending divisions and promoting human solidarity.

This places a grave responsibility upon us. Those who honor the One God believe that he will hold human beings accountable for their actions. Christians assert that the divine gifts of reason and freedom stand at the basis of this accountability. Reason opens the mind to grasp the shared nature and common destiny of the human family, while freedom moves the heart to accept the other and serve him in charity. Undivided love for the One God and charity towards ones neighbor thus become the fulcrum around which all else turns. This is why we work untiringly to safeguard human hearts from hatred, anger or vengeance.

Dear friends, I have come to Jerusalem on a journey of faith. I thank God for this occasion to meet you as the Bishop of Rome and Successor of the Apostle Peter, but also as a child of Abraham, by whom “all the families of the earth find blessing” (Gen 12:3; cf. Rom 4:16-17). I assure you of the Church’s ardent desire to cooperate for the well-being of the human family. She firmly believes that the fulfillment of the promise made to Abraham is universal in scope, embracing all men and women regardless of provenance or social status. As Muslims and Christians further the respectful dialogue they have already begun, I pray that they will explore how the Oneness of God is inextricably tied to the unity of the human family. In submitting to his loving plan for creation, in studying the law inscribed in the cosmos and implanted in the human heart, in reflecting upon the mysterious gift of God’s self-revelation, may all his followers continue to keep their gaze fixed on his absolute goodness, never losing sight of the way it is reflected in the faces of others.

With these thoughts, I humbly ask the Almighty to grant you peace and to bless all the beloved people of this region. May we strive to live in a spirit of harmony and cooperation, bearing witness to the One God by generously serving one another. Thank you!

ARE YOU TALENTED - SURE YOU ARE - GET TO KNOW

Most of us go through our lives feeling that we have no talent.

A burden on Earth - we consider ourselves to be of no use. We don’t do well at our jobs, we are not good looking pretty, we are sitting alone at parties, we have no sense of humor, and it keeps going on and on.

With so many negatives in our head we make sure that we feel lousy and depressed all the time. But this is just half of the story.

Take a peep into the other side. Be curious about your other side and you will be surprised by what you see. You need to open the door to the other half.

Explore the good in you. Every time you have a negative thought about yourself think about one positive, one good thing about yourself you can be proud of, one good thing you admire in yourself.

Once you start balancing the bad with the good you will be able to shake off the old and negative identity that has been following you.

Creating a good and positive image about yourself is a daunting task once you allowed the negative and bad image dominate for so many years but it not impossible.

Take baby steps and see the stirring of the stagnant pond within you!

Once you start doing this see your performance at the office improve, see the radiance of your thoughts make you look beautiful, see how people seek your company and laugh at your jokes.

Let this feeling take over and let the stagnant water of the pool flow with a new current.

You are born to succeed. Work at it. It is never too late.

EXPERIENCE GOD - FIND HIM WITHIN YOURSELF

Hello,
Where is God? Who is God?
Are these questions that trouble you?

  • God can be experienced and felt once you know how to access the truth. There is no point in debating the existence or non existence of the Almighty.

  • God is not something to believe in. Just like we do not need anyone to tell us what we look like after we have seen our reflection in the mirror, we do not need any debate on God once we have known him, experienced him.

  • Knowledge is strength and knowledge does not come from debate. Knowledge comes from silence. Knowledge will come to you when you become one with God.

  • Once you realize that you are the Creator, the Preserver and the Destroyer your reason to question the existence will vanish. Once you have seen your true reflection in the mirror there is no debate on what you look like.

Regards,

Manoj

GEETA TEACHINGS - BE READY FOR CHANGE

Whatever happened, it happened for good.
Whatever is happening, is happening for good.
Whatever that will happen, it will be for good.
What have you lost for which you cry?
What did you bring with you, which you have lost?
What did you produce, which has destroyed?
You did not bring anything when you were born.
Whatever you have, you have received from Him.
Whatever you will give, you will give to Him.
You came empty handed and

you will go the same way.

Whatever is yours today was somebody else’s yesterday and will be somebody else’s tomorrow.

Change is the law of the universe.

Access to Truth

Though everyone is free to access the truth about themselves very few actually get to know it. People who know their true self are people who have self discipline, non- attached to the material and steadfast in their approach.

Though the truth is out in the open not many have the courage to grasp it as the search always provokes doubt and vacillation. The difficulties about living with the truth about self scares many and is a burden very few are ready to shoulder.

The one who knows the self does not need help. He is nearest to God.

Best regards,
Manoj

Can you bury the SPIRIT

Crito asks Socrates "In what way shall we bury you Socrates?"

Socrates answers "In any way you like but first you must catch me, the real me. Be of good cheer , my dear Crito and say that you are burying my body only and do that whatever is usual and what you think best."

Socrates means to say that the SPIRIT his thoughts represent are so omnipresent and invincible that by merely destroying the carrier the SPIRIT cannot be buried. It will live forever in other bodies and minds. We need to work to get a SPIRIT to burn without us and then when we get that SPIRIT to burn we make ourself invincible.

GOD IN DIFFERENT FORMS

Hi,
Can God be Human?
Yes, he is generally human. When God wants to help he takes the human form. He makes the help look natural coming from one person to another so that it brings us closer to another human being.
This is his way of telling you that you need not look for God in the mountains, in temples, in mosques, churches and Gurudwaras. You need to look at your neighbor, you need to look at friends, you need to look within yourself and he will be there.
God is Human.
If you think so then you can expalin everything in your life.
Best regards,
Manoj

CRISIS IN LIFE

Most of us go through life without facing the ultimate questions. It is in rare crises, when our ambitions lie in ruins at our feet, when we realize in remorse and agony the sad mess we have made our lives, we cry out"Why are we here?" "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
These thoughts create a feeling of anxiety, aloneness, doubt and insecurity.
These feelings are to be overcome if a man has to function successfully. To realize ones unreason is a step towards development to reason. It is the general experience of seekers that they are assailed by doubts and difficulties, even when they are on the threshold of light. The light as it begins to shine in any soul provokes the darkness to resist it.
It must be laid on the altar and consumed in the fire of wisdom.
When you reach this stage - weighed down by wretchedness, confused about what is right and wrong, seek light and guidance from the divine within you.
Wish you all the best in your search,

ZAM ZAM FROM MECCA

Hello,
My friend went to Mecca and got me ZAM ZAM, the holy water from Mecca.
The Well of Zamzam (or the Zamzam Well, or just Zamzam; Arabic: زمزم‎) is a well located within the Masjid al Haram in Mecca, 20 meters east of the Kaaba,[1] the holiest place in Islam. According to Islamic belief, it was a miraculously-generated source of water from Allah (God), which began thousands of years ago when Ibrahim's infant son Ishmael was thirsty and kept crying for water and was kicking at the ground when water gushed out. Millions of pilgrims visit the Well each year while performing the Hajj or Umrah pilgrimages, in order to drink its water. By Saudi law, the water cannot be sold outside of the kingdom.
I have been taking sips every now and then and I like the taste of the holy water.
Mecca is out of bounds for all non muslims, so if you want to visit Kaaba, it is impossible. "Oh you who believe! Truly the idolaters are unclean; so let them not, after this year, approach the Sacred Mosque...." (9:28).
Anyway beggers can't be choosers.
Best regards,
Manoj

Finding my path

Hi there,
One God. I see you have heard me. I now have a small pot of money. I forgot where i kept it.
Good, I feel, at least I will not spend it.
But if I do not spend it what is the use of having it.
So many dicotomies.
Help me Lord in getting a direction, taking a path, even if it is the wrong one.
I have decided I will write to you daily.
Maybe that will help in collecting my thoughts and making me see the path I should walk on.'
Best regards & thank you for the luck you have showered on me,
Manoj
